Coot (Fulica atra)

About 37 cm large water bird with a uniform black plumage and bright white forehead just above the white beak. Occurs year-round on lakes, ponds and slow-flowing rivers, even in the midst of the city. When starting from water coots depart with their wings flapping and loud, with their feet almost walking on the water.
