Galapagos Hawk (Buteo galapagoensis)

The Galapagos Hawk is the only diurnal bird of prey at the Galapagos Islands. It belongs to the genus of the buzzards, this species is considered to be endangered. The Galapagos Hawk hunts primarily from the air. It feeds small mammals, reptiles, insects and also smaller birds, stranded dead fish and other carrion.
