Great Crested Grebe (Podiceps cristatus)

The most common and largest grebes, slim, white neck and pink beak. In breeding plumage very striking cover, in plumage only black headstock, in juvenile plumage dark head stripe. Occurs in inland still water of all kinds, in winter and in the sea.
