Seagulls (Laridae)

Seagulls make their own bird family, this includes 7 genera and about 55 species. Gulls are medium to large birds and are spread almost worldwide, mostly in the temperate and cold climates both hemispheres. Most species live on the sea shores, some also nest inland, especially in larger waters. Few live over the open water most of the year.
