Red-backed shrike (Lanius collurio)

Conspicuously colored, with thick black eye-streak. Often sitting in an upright position on bush tops. Breeds in moorland and heathland, forest edges with thorn bushes and in some regions in parks. Impales with food excess prey on thorns and barbed wire.
