Pelican (Pelecanus)
Pelicans are water birds and represented on all continents except the Antarctic. Unmistakable are the
shape and the expandable sac on the lower mandible. This is used for fishing as landing net,
its capacity goes up to 13 liters in the large species. The plumage is almost always colored white,
sometimes pink. Furthermore there is the Brown Pelican, the color of its name suggests.
