White Stork (Ciconia ciconia)
About 1m tall wader, wingspan about 2m. Wing-feathers black, otherwise snow-white plumage. Beaks and
legs bright red, brown in young storks. Migratory, wintering in Africa. Breeds mostly on buildings
and chimneys, locally but also in large tree nests.
