Barnacle goose (Branta leucopsis)
Black and white, white head with a black crown, white belly, top light gray. Is easily confused with
the Canada goose, but has a black head. Lifetime marriage, the families remain together until the
next breeding season. The Barnacle goose, also known as Nunn Goose earlier hatched exclusively in
Russian Arctic Sea coasts. Since the 70-years, she has also colonized the Baltic Sea Region and
now is one of the breeding birds in Central Europe.
