Hoopoe (Upupa epops)
Flashy bird, but on the ground while foraging easy to overlook. The plumage is orange brown with
black and white wings. The hoopoe can not be ignored, wearing a hood which sometimes is raised.
The beak is long and narrow, hereby worms and insects are being sought. It breeds in cultural
landscapes, like in wine and fruit growing areas, the nest can be found in tree cavities,
walls and holes in the ground.
